NMLS#248922Having started in the mortgage profession with rates at 9% in 1979, I went to American Graduate School for International Management (Thunderbird) for my Masters of International Management degree in 1981 when rates on a 30 yr fixed rate mortgage hit 18%... Yes, 18%! Upon completion of that degree I gratefully moved to Boulder and returned to the industry due to my enjoyment of real estate. In 1990 I started Equitrust Lending Inc and operated that through dramatic growth to 60+ employees until 1999 when we sold it to a competitor. It was quickly apparent that I have a genetic disposition for self-employment and I returned to that world by buying into Liberty Home Loans Inc, and grew that up to 45 employees in a two year period.
Although life at Liberty was good for me, I've been directed to make some healthy living decisions and one of those was to lose my stress. As a result I've dramatically simplified life through going off on my own to focus on what I enjoy and do well; helping people to make sound and impactful financial decisions.
In 1988 I completed the Certified Financial Planner licensing and have maintained that license since that time. Although I do fee based financial planning independant of the lending License, I commonly put that education to work with each client by making suggestions and creating the image of where good decisions can lead to!

NMLS #1584888I “happened” into the mortgage industry in 2012 and have been hooked ever since! After starting at Liberty Home Loans in what I believed would be a temporary job, I soon found myself falling into the trap that so many succumb to – the addiction of the mortgage industry – following in my father’s footsteps. While at Liberty I worked on the loan operations side of lending with much of my time being spent running the appraisal department, funding loans, actively working the post-closing function with investors who purchased the loans, and doing government required reporting. In this position I quickly found I loved compliance/quality control type work; whether in an appraisal, in the disclosure process, or the paperwork collecting process, making sure all boxes were checked, T’s crossed, and I’s dotted was my specialty.
This enjoyment of the industry lead me to come over to the loan origination side of lending. In 2016 I started working for Equitrust Lending LLC as support for Don. I’ve enjoyed working with Don as our interests complement one another; Don has the expertise and enjoys walking people through the home buying process and I really relish the behind the scenes compliance and paperwork shuffle. In 2017 I obtained my mortgage loan originator license and appreciate focusing on the detailed behind the scenes work that has been increasingly mandated by industry standards.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016 from Liberty University in Virginia with my BS in Criminal Justice: Business Administration and Management, and a minor in Accounting. I’ve remained in the mortgage industry due to my love of working with real estate, being able to assist people in one of (if not the) biggest ventures people will take, and the chance to “wear” many hats while being kept on my toes!
